New members must have taken at least one ceramics class or have prior approval, and be given a studio orientation tour.   Applicants must have an understanding of the ceramic process from beginning to end. All skill levels are welcomed but members must understand how to safely use equipment.

Community Membership

NorthCoast Mudworks is a cooperative studio.  Memberships are designed for ceramic artists looking to work and grow independently with clay amongst shared space and equipment to develop their skills and have space to create.

Part-time Studio Memberships:

$125 a month gives you 10 hours a week of studio time which must be reserved online
2 shelves for work in process and storage (18’ x 4’)
Firing (may be limited as needed, not intended for production firing)
You can buy Midrange clay from studio (new or recycled)
Use of community glazes
Use of our extensive collection of tools and equipment (Slab roller, wheels, work tables, and extruders).

Member work hours are 6am-9pm most days of the week. A few times a week there will be hours blocked for cleaning, classes or special events. Member hours outside normal times will be considered and approved on a case-by-case basis.
